I have lost my notebook. It has been three days, and I can’t find it anywhere. I have cleaned, I have hunted, I have fretted, and opened the same drawers over and over again, hoping that this time the pesky book will be laying there.
It’s not like I took it anywhere….even to another room, although I’ve looked in all of them. It should be right here—here on my desk. It is not tiny. It just vanished…damn it.
Thankfully, not life shattering….just frustrating. I’m off…to go check the trunk of the car.
And while the lyrics don’t fit this situation….the title does…I hope.

Pressing the snooze button hoping for nine more minutes of blissful sleep, rolling over and snuggling further into my blankets, I hear a voice clearly in my head:
“This is it…do or die…sleep or be slept.”
My eyes pop wide open, “wow, that was weird…what the heck does that mean?” I laugh, and then struggle with the question of will I remember it in eight minutes when my alarm goes off again? Will I be able to remember it later in the day, when I want to relay the thought to my daughter? No. No, I won’t. I know myself better than that….dammit. I really wanted that extra little bit of sleep. Instead of getting up, I send myself a text message, and rolled over for one very short minute of not sleeping before the alarm does its thing again. Damn.
